I took automation out of my invoicing system on purpose. Not because tools don’t work—but because my brain wasn’t working with them. Sometimes fewer tools are the most supportive system of all.

If a system fights how someone works, it won’t last. Systems should adapt to people — not the other way around.

If something repeats, it shouldn’t rely on memory. Automation isn’t about speed — it’s about removing decisions.

If something only lives in my head, it’s temporary by default. This is why important work needs a place to land outside of memory.
